Supply loss is leading, weather is amplifying

The prompt is tightening on the supply side first: Norwegian exports to the continent fell to 331 mcm/day after an unplanned compressor outage at Troll, from 344 mcm/day 1. That maps onto the graph's strongest in-edge for TTF — Norwegian pipeline flows, where lower exports mechanically tighten the northwest European balance. TTF front-month sits at €34.20/MWh, up 2.1% on the day.

Demand is amplifying rather than initiating. A cooler northwest European spell and a forecast wind lull across Germany lift heating load and gas-for-power burn into the weekend 2, the classic residual-demand channel. On the LNG side, regas sendout eased to 118 mcm/day as a widening JKM premium of $1.10/MMBtu pulled flexible cargoes east 3 — a second supply-side drain on the Atlantic basin.

The counterweight is storage. European inventories at 61.4% full, with injections at 0.28 percentage points a day, give the basin room to absorb the tightness rather than pass all of it to the prompt 4. The mechanism, not a view: supply losses and a cold, low-wind spell are balance-tightening, while a comfortable storage buffer is the release valve the desk is watching.

Preview — Phase 0. Answers are direction and mechanism only — never a trade, a level, a target, or advice shaped to a position. Every number is grounded against the packet before the answer ships; failures get one repair pass, then the figure is struck and the gap disclosed. The desk never runs a live web search.
