AEC Backs Venezuela Upstream Opening as Execution Risks Mount

The Andean Energy Community has thrown its support behind Venezuela's efforts to attract upstream oil and gas investment, according to a report carried by Sohu.com. The endorsement follows Venezuela's interim government publishing sweeping oil regulations on Thursday (2026-07-09) that effectively end PDVSA's decades-long monopoly over the country's industry.
