EPA sends four more California air waivers to Congress for Republican review

EPA submitted four California air pollution rule waivers to Congress on Friday (2026-06-12), opening a 60-legislative-day window in which Republicans can use the Congressional Review Act to nullify them. The submission followed EPA's earlier revocation this year of all federal tailpipe greenhouse gas limits, a move that already removed one layer of compliance obligation from automakers.
