Urals Discount Narrows Sharply as Ukrainian Strikes Cripple Russian Refining

Urals crude was quoted at $79.19 a barrel as of August 9 (2026-08-09), with its discount to ICE Brent front-month at $82.38 compressed to roughly $3. That compares with a $27.35-a-barrel gap recorded by Argus Media on July 3 (2026-07-03), when the Russian grade averaged just $41.66 at western export ports.
