ICE Endex TTF front-month natural gas settled at €55.50 per megawatt-hour on 2026-08-08, continuing a climb that began when the benchmark jumped 3.5% in a single session on Monday (2026-07-13) after traders reacted to renewed tensions around the Strait of Hormuz. The equivalent UK front-month contract rose 4% the same day, Yahoo Finance reported. Both moves show how quickly Middle East conflict translates into European winter hedging costs even when the physical link runs through an LNG arbitrage chain rather than a pipeline.
