US Refiners Set Export Records as Global Capacity Shrinks, June Bookings Signal Pullback

Bloomberg reported during the week of July 27 (2026-07-27) that wars in the Middle East and Ukraine, combined with China's restrictions on fuel exports and Russia's ban on diesel shipments, have cut effective global refining capacity by as much as 10%. U.S. refiners have moved faster than any other supplier to capture the resulting demand.
